How DigiAccess supports companies
With the Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG ) coming into force in 2025, the topic of digital accessibility is more in focus than ever. Many companies – especially marketers – are asking themselves how they can implement the new requirements. The solution? Automation and innovative approaches such as those from DigiAccess.
In an interview with Thomas Brumlob, co-founder of DigiAccess, we find out how his company is overcoming the challenges of digital accessibility and what the BFSG means for companies.
A look back: the creation of DigiAccess
DigiAccess was founded in 2020 after the founders – originally web developers – were asked by social institutions for support in making their websites accessible. “We quickly realized that accessibility means much more than just adjusting contrasts and font sizes,” recalls co-founder Thomas Brumlob.
Over time, the team developed software that not only diagnoses barriers, but also fixes them automatically. “Our aim was to offer companies a simple and efficient solution,” explains Thomas.

The biggest challenges and how DigiAccess helps
1. look and feel: the first hurdle
The first steps include adjustments such as stopping animations, optimizing contrasts and improving font sizes. These measures immediately improve the user experience noticeably.
2. technical requirements: Where most of the problems lie
A common problem is the lack of keyboard navigation. Many people with visual or mobility impairments do not use a mouse, but navigate exclusively by keyboard. “Our software recognizes such barriers and ensures that menus and content are accessible via the keyboard,” explains Thomas.
3. screen reader compatibility: essential for blind users
DigiAccess automatically integrates technical markups such as ARIA attributes, which screen readers need in order to display content correctly. “A normal user won’t notice this, but this optimization is crucial for screen reader users,” says Thomas.
DigiAccess in practice
The implementation of DigiAccess is not only extremely simple, but also quick to implement. A JavaScript snippet is integrated into the website – similar to Google Analytics. This makes it possible to automatically detect and remove barriers on the website without the need for any major changes to the code.
At the heart of DigiAccess is the intuitive dashboard, which allows companies to control all customizations individually. Not only can colors, contrasts and placements be adjusted here, but specific functions can also be activated to meet the user’s needs. Particularly impressive is the ability to specifically activate functions for various restrictions such as visual impairments, cognitive limitations or keyboard navigation. Users have the freedom to configure adjustments such as reading text aloud, stopping animations or reducing visual stimuli themselves.
Another highlight: DigiAccess works across all devices. Regardless of whether the site is visited on a desktop, smartphone or tablet – the adjustments are optimized for all end devices. Companies can also make specific adjustments for mobile and stationary views to ensure an optimal user experience.

The future: Confidence-building measures through test protocols
To offer companies additional security, DigiAccess is planning to introduce test protocols. These are intended to document which barriers have been identified and rectified, and serve as proof to test centers and customers. “This creates trust and shows that companies take their responsibility seriously,” explains Thomas.
Long-term benefits of accessibility
In addition to compliance with legal requirements, accessibility also offers economic benefits:
1. extended target group
Around 10% of the population are dependent on barrier-free services.
2. improved user experience
Accessible websites are more user-friendly for everyone.
3. image gain
Companies that remove barriers position themselves as responsible and modern.
Accessibility as an opportunity
The BFSG makes digital accessibility mandatory, but it is worth going beyond the legal requirements. DigiAccess offers an innovative solution that supports companies with the implementation and at the same time increases the user-friendliness of their offerings.
Confidence-building measures such as test protocols and transparent communication round off the offer. Companies that break down barriers not only gain legally, but also economically – and make the digital world a little more accessible for everyone.
